The Gentle Way uses water rather than flame, and is carried out by our own team here in Townsville. Your loved one stays in our care, from beginning to end — and the ashes are returned to your family together with a plant.

The right farewell often starts with the right room.
Our chapel seats up to 300, yet feels just as right for an intimate gathering of 20. It’s equipped for livestreaming, music and photo tributes — and a religious service or one with no religious content at all are equally welcome here.
We also have a dedicated kids’ room opposite the chapel and a separate parenting room, because grief doesn’t pause for children — and neither should your family’s ability to be there.

Yes. Townsville Funerals, Cremations & Crematorium has been owned and operated by Robin and Leanne Drury and their family since 2025.
It matters because who owns a funeral home shapes how it’s run, how decisions are made, and how much time there is to give a family. Funeral care is about you and your family — and we believe you shouldn’t have to pay more than you need to.
Do you provide all types of services?
Yes. Whichever way your family wants to say goodbye, we can arrange it — a service in our own chapel or a church of your choice, burial or cremation. For cremation, you can choose Woongarra Crematorium, Whitsunday Crematorium, or our own water-based Gentle Way. There’s no right or wrong in funeral care; our focus is providing our services, your way.
