Cremation is chosen by most families in our region. It can follow a beautiful service in our chapel or your own church, or it can happen simply and privately, without a service at all.
Choosing cremation never limits how you say goodbye. The service can be as personal as you like — and the decision about what happens afterwards is always yours.
A choice of crematorium.
For a traditional flame cremation, we can arrange it through either of two crematoriums. We’ll talk you through the benefits of each — the choice is yours.
We take care of all the arrangements and transfers, and we’ll keep you informed every step of the way.
Simple, respectful, and fully taken care of.
Sometimes called a no-service, no-attendance cremation, a direct cremation is a simple and affordable option when a family doesn’t wish to hold a service. It’s handled with exactly the same dignity and care. We look after everything:
- Bringing your loved one into our care from the place they passed
- Gently preparing them and placing them in a simple coffin
- All paperwork, including registering the death with Births, Deaths & Marriages
- The cremation itself
- Returning the ashes to you, and letting you know when the death certificate is ready to collect
The death certificate usually arrives from Births, Deaths & Marriages within a few weeks. We’ll call you as soon as it’s with us.
Keeping them close.
Ashes are returned in a simple container, and you’re welcome to choose something more fitting from our urn range — from classic urns to keepsakes and memorial jewellery that let the whole family hold on to a part of them.
Whether you plan to keep the ashes at home, inter them in a memorial garden or scatter them somewhere special, we’re happy to help.
A gentler alternative, right here at home.
The Gentle Way uses water rather than flame, and is carried out by our own team here in Townsville. Your loved one stays with us, in our care, from beginning to end.
