From the very beginning, Kylie and the team stood out in a way that we will never forget.
My dad had walked into two other funeral homes before this, and while I understand this is a service and a business, those experiences felt cold, clinical, and transactional at a time when our world had just fallen apart.
When he met Kylie, she spoke with kindness, warmth, and genuine care. She explained things gently, never clinically, and spoke about the process in a way that honoured my brother as a person, not a procedure. When she explained the gentle water cremation, my dad found it incredibly beautiful – and it brought him a sense of peace during a moment where there was very little of it.
From that point on, Kylie and the entire team showed nothing but compassion to our whole family. They were accommodating beyond words. Due to hospital and police processes, we weren’t able to see my brother until he was released to a funeral home – and Kylie went out of her way to bring the date forward so that we could see him sooner. They also allowed our family dog to come along to see him again and to attend the funeral. Those gestures alone mean more to us than we can properly express.
In passing, I mentioned that my brother loved Iron Man. They included the most thoughtful, subtle touch from one of those movies – something so personal and so beautiful and something I would never even thought of.
The service itself was as lovely as it can be. Kylie’s poem, the slideshow, the care taken with every detail – it was all done with such heart. On a day that felt impossible to get through, everything ran smoothly, calmly, and with dignity.
This cannot be an easy job, but at no point did we feel like just another booking. We felt genuinely cared for, supported, and understood.
We are so deeply grateful to Kylie and the team for making the most heartbreaking day of our lives a little gentler. We could not recommend them more highly, and we will forever be thankful for the care they showed our family.

I want to sincerely congratulate the new owner of Townsville Cremations for the truly exceptional, compassionate, and professional funeral service provided for my daughter. From beginning to end, everything was handled with care, warmth, and genuine respect. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and the compassion and dignity shown to my wife and me were simply beyond belief.
We had used this company in the past and, to be honest, found the experience only average — so we were a little hesitant to return. However, during a visit to Brisbane for another funeral, I happened to speak with a funeral director who told me that a good friend of his, Robin Drury, had recently purchased Townsville Cremations. He said, “If I ever had the choice, I’d want Robin to handle my own funeral.”
After witnessing the outstanding service Robin and his team provided, I can say without hesitation — he was absolutely right. Every detail was handled flawlessly, and the kindness shown to our family turned one of life’s hardest moments into something deeply respectful and comforting.

A gentler goodbye using water instead of flame, carried out here in Townsville by our own family team, from beginning to end.
Just lovely service from all staff, and so helpful, supportive and understanding. Nothing was too hard or a problem.
Plus we chose them for the low emission greener cremation option that uses water instead of fire. Mum never liked the idea of cremation. That meant a lot to us. AND they organise for two trees to be planted for reforestation of the Daintree rainforest. As a family that has loved nature and camping and boating all our lives this struck a chord. We loved this so much we purchased an extra 88 trees through the reforestation company and you can even go and participate planting.

My dad passed suddenly visiting me from Perth. It was so daunting facing into arranging a funeral but Allan and the team showed care and compassion, helping us get things done quickly since most of my family had flown over from interstate. While he was in Pal care I visited him in Townsville and prepared his affairs with Townsville funeral. When he passed away this company made his cremation seamless. Townsville Cremations were absolutely brilliant. They provided excellent care, consideration and support to my sister and I during the planning of our aunt’s funeral. Despite cyclones and power outages they were able to ensure everything went beautifully and that the service was a wonderful tribute.

As well all know deaths are hard for anyone. When my grandmother passed away we went to Townsville funerals to organize her funeral. This business treated us like family from the moment we walked in to the end of the whole funeral process. The team were amazing and caring and nothing was an issue for them. I can’t recommend them enough for the outstanding service and caring nature they showed from start to finish. Being locally own and operated we also got to speak with the owners which made the experience better for us. When comparing prices Townsville funerals was very competitive. Townsville funerals and cremations is run by some amazing people! They went above and beyond in helping me organise a perfect send off for my son! Everyone was so lovely and compassionate. Knowing that my mum would be well taken care of was a great relief. They answered all of our questions without hesitation. Having a family owned local business who cares about the people and not the money made the terrible time a little better.

Townsville Cremations helped me back in April and May when my father got sick and passed away suddenly.
They offered a low cost option for a cremation with no service as per my Dad’s wishes. The team was incredibly helpful and practical and I couldn’t have asked for more.
Its a family run business, which gives it a nice personal touch, and they personnally collect your loved one when its time, day or night (some other companies outsource late night collections or charge extra fees).

I have had to sadly attend a few funerals recently and i cant give enough praise to everyone at Townsville Funerals for all the effort they put into accommodating special request and in helping make everyone feel so comfortable on the day. They went above and beyond every time, the service was also so beautifully done and the place was impeccable and very modern and elegant as well.
